Imported Canned FishToday I was shopping in my local Coles supermarket and I thought I would buy some canned tuna since it has been some time since I had purchased some. It was a confusing experience since most tuna is now mixed with other ingredients to pimp it up. I did manage to find a couple of tins of plain standard tuna but I was disappointed after reading the label carefully.

Yes every tin I could see was selling crap farmed, supposedly tuna that comes from Thailand. They seem to mainly sell Coles branded tuna while many brands we used to see have all disappeared besides 1 or 2 that I had never heard of but I would expect are some partner of Coles as they also sell only Thailand shit fish packaged as Tuna to unsuspecting Aussies.

Ok, you will see that they also say something about Australia or New Zealand on the tin, probably where the fish was processed and put into the tin but the origin of the fish was Thailand. They also make the print on the label extremely small so it’s very difficult to read.

All I can say is shame on Coles, shame on the Australian Government and shame on consumers who buy this crap. Do You know that your basically eating fish that is grown in the most polluted and environmentally unfriendly places found. I have seen photos of how these fish are grown and it really is quite frighting to think that people would eat this stuff. These places are more like sewers, not places where food is produced.

Here we are in one of the most fish abundant country on earth, with so much fresh and tasty seafood including tuna and all our supermarket can stock is this cheap crap from Thailand that is grown in artificial farms with many chemicals, hormones and artificial food.

We need to make sure that these supermarkets and our politicians know about our disapproval of this situation.
